About the Project
As part of the Sydney Architecture Festival 2012, the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects created an exhibition in Customs House, Circular Quay. The purpose of the exhibition was to generate awareness, interest and public discourse on a number of current landscaping projects in development in the city of Sydney.
The website created for the exhibition was designed to generate a public discussion by allowing users to post comments and images related to the projects displayed on the website. Users accessed various areas of the website by scanning the QR codes displayed in Customs House on iPads provided, or from their phones. Users were then able to view the projects and post comments on them or upload images.
The website was divided into two sections as follows.
Professionals Section
The professionals section of the website is divided into six geographical categories. Each category contains the projects physically located within the geographical boundaries of the region within that category. Each of the six areas may contain an unlimited number of projects. The six areas are:
- City
- Harbour
- North
- East
- South
- West
Public Section
The public section is designed to allow users to upload their own projects and other members of the public can view and comment on them.
The public section will be divided into four categories:
- Stories
- Photos
- Places
- My Places
