At Yarra Web, doing good business has always meant more than just great websites and marketing results. It means taking responsibility for the world we operate in. That’s why we’re proud to announce that we’ve just planted another 440 native trees and shrubs in one of Australia’s most important environmental restoration projects — the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor.
About the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor
Located in the northern wheatbelt of Southwest Western Australia, approximately 400 kilometres north of Perth, the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor is the largest biodiverse reforestation carbon sink in Australia — a project operated by Carbon Neutral Pty Ltd that is literally bringing a landscape back to life.
Over 90% of this region was cleared by European settlers during the last century for farming. Today, much of that land is no longer suitable for agriculture, leaving behind degraded soil, rising salinity, and lost habitat. Carbon Neutral has been working since 2008 to reverse this damage, planting mixed native species — including Eucalypts and Acacias — across more than 21,000 hectares. To date, more than 30 million native trees and shrubs have been planted.
The goal is ambitious: create a continuous 200km green corridor stretching from inland Australia all the way to the coast, reconnecting 12 nature reserves and providing refuge for threatened species like the Carnaby’s Black-Cockatoo and Malleefowl.
Our Latest Contribution
On 30 March 2026, Yarra Web received Certificate No. CERT40844, confirming our planting of 440 native trees and shrubs in the Corridor (Serial Numbers: YYBC-P1-23/2049691–2050130). This is on top of our previous plantings — and it won’t be our last.
Why We Do It
As a Melbourne-based digital agency, our day-to-day environmental footprint might seem small compared to heavy industry. But we believe every business has a role to play. Supporting biodiverse reforestation is one of the most meaningful ways we can give back — it sequesters carbon, restores ecosystems, creates jobs in regional Australia, and helps protect species that exist nowhere else on Earth.
We’re proud to partner with Carbon Neutral, an organisation regulated by ASIC and recognised internationally for its Gold Standard certification — the first project in Australia to earn it.
Yarra Web + Sustainability
This commitment to environmental responsibility reflects who we are as a business. When you work with Yarra Web, you’re working with a team that cares — about your results, and about the world around us.
